Texas Longhorns Get A Wake Up Call

The Day - Saturday, September 25 2010

The Place - Austin, Texas

In a shocking turn of events No. 7 Texas Longhorns (who had a 16-game winning streak at home) were crushed by visiting UCLA Bruins 34-12.

The biggest shocker is that only last week the Longhorns gave fellow Texas team the Texas Tech Red Raiders a serious beating. The Bruins came to play in football country and proved they could hold their own against a team most thought couldn’t be beaten.

Soon after Texas Coach Mack Brown tried to pick up the pieces in a TV interview. Can the Texas Longhorns pick themselves up, shake off this loss and make it to a bowl game this season? The jury is still out on this one. All we do know is that this isn’t the same team we saw last year.

UFL is here!
October Showdown!

This Saturday, October 2nd, top-ranked Alabama Crimson Tide and seventh-ranked Florida Gators go head to head in a rematch from the last two Southeastern Conference championship games.

Gators coach, Urban Meyer, said he thought about having a week in training camp devoted to this game “until I looked on the film and I saw how poor we were. To start worrying about Alabama, we better just figure out a way to catch the ball, put it away and not fumble.”

Both teams are 4-0, so even with a loss these two teams could still make it to a National Championship. So this Saturday's game is all about bragging rights.
