#1 Texas at #7 Texas Tech...This will be brutal. The Longhorns have beaten the Red Raiders seven times straight, but Tech is back and something's changed. Texas may be the favorite but remember the squashing Texas Tech bestowed on Kansas?
One might think Texas Tech has an axe to grind as they struggle to gain respect as a true BCS contender! Tech’s own Michael Crabtree is touted as the best receiver in the country. He may just have the chops to zigzag all the way down the gridiron to a Red Raider victory. Still, the Longhorns are #1 and have Heisman candidate Colt McCoy. With this year’s game in Austin, Texas should have the advantage.

Jabs in Jacksonville
Even though Matthew Stafford is only 20 years old, he and the rest of the 6th ranked Georgia Bulldogs will be attending the “World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party” this Saturday in Jacksonville, Florida. Both Stafford and running back Knowshon Moreno are Heisman hopefuls and they will welcome a third as Tim Tebow and the 8th ranked Florida Gators take the field.
Last year the under-ranked Bulldogs upset the Gators 42-30. This time the Gators feel it would only be fitting to return the favor. Georgia leads this series 46-37-2 ever since their first meeting back in 1928.
Bragging rights, the Heisman Trophy and maybe even the National Championship could all be on the line in this classic match up. |
